The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, After the Bet earns a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site running and the free resources free.

What we earn from

  • Budgeting apps: Monarch Money ($20 per paid subscription), YNAB (one free month per referral), Simplifi by Quicken (small CPA commission). These are recommended in the budget tools section and in relevant articles.
  • Gambling blocking software: Gamban (small commission per subscription). Recommended because it is genuinely effective — not because of the commission.
  • Digital products: The Financial Reset Kit and other printable tools are sold directly on this site via Gumroad. We earn the revenue directly from these sales.
  • Books: Occasionally via Amazon Associates (3–4% commission on books). Only books we have actually found useful.

What we will never earn from

  • Casinos, sportsbooks, online gambling platforms, or any gambling operator — ever
  • Payday lenders, high-interest personal loan providers, or "cash advance" services
  • Credit repair scam services
  • Data brokers or services that would sell your information
  • Any advertiser whose products would harm this audience

Our editorial policy

Affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. We would recommend Monarch Money and YNAB whether or not they had affiliate programs. We have turned down affiliate arrangements that didn't fit this audience. If a product has an affiliate program and we genuinely recommend it, we use the affiliate link. If we recommend something with no affiliate program (like BetBlocker, which is a free nonprofit), we link to it anyway.

FTC disclosure

In accordance with FTC guidelines, we disclose affiliate relationships in a prominent notice on any page containing affiliate links, and in this document. We are always willing to answer questions about our affiliate relationships — contact us via the about page.
